DISCONTENT WITH ONLY SPREADING FAKE NEWS, DON LEMON EXTENDS HIS REACH INTO FAKE THEOLOGY AS WELL.3/16/2021
Unwilling to 'stay in his lane' as a talking head on one of America's most sensationalized Fake News networks, Don Lemon is now moving into the realm of theology.
"It's a natural shift for me, actually", said Lemon. "I've been playing a charlatan on CNN, since I joined the network in 2006, so why not play one in real life as well?" Lemon, host of the CNN sitcom, CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, is looking at new ways of branching out and extending his reach into other arenas. Recently, in an interview with ABC's The View co-host, Meghan McCain, Mr. Lemon was asked how he felt about the Vatican declaring that God cannot bless same-sex unions, because God cannot bless sin. "God is not about hindering people or even judging people," Lemon said before suggesting that Christians have racial bias. "And to put it in the context of race, I find that, you know, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said the most segregated place on Earth, time on Earth, was 11 a.m. on a Sunday morning," Lemon remarked. "It was really cool to see how Don leveraged this question as an opportunity to expose both racism and bigotry", said an ABC Executive. "He's so well versed in both of these social-justice accusations and he never seems to miss a beat. To call the Vadican out on their homophobia while also alluding to their racism was just really a magic moment for television. He's so good at what he does and I'm so happy he has decided to branch out into chastising the Christian Church even as he continues to dress down the deplorable Republicans."
Like many others, Mr. Lemon believes the Bible has had a chokehold on God for far too long. "Why should we allow the Bible to have exclusive rights to what God says or what God wants? That's not very inclusive", said Lemon. "What I'm trying to do is help people understand that they can know what God wants or what God considers good, simply by understanding their feelings. If they feel judgement or condemnation or shame, then that's not God. That's the devil. God wants you to feel happy and validated and valued and free. I know this, becasue it's how I feel and I feel more alive today than I ever did when I let the Bible have exclusive jurisdiction on God's will." |
