In a Brave Move, Dwayne Johnson Breaks from the Hollywood Norm to Endorse Joe Biden for President.9/28/2020 Hollywood, CA — In a bold move that could cost him his career, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson endorsed Joe Biden for President on Sunday.
"As a political independent & centrist, I’ve voted for both parties in the past. In this critical presidential election, I’m endorsing @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris", Mr. Johnson said on Twitter. In the video, posted with his tweet, after sharing platitudes on the hard work they're all doing, Mr. Johnson went on to officially share his endorsement. "I've never publicly endorsed a presidential candidate or a vice-presidential candidate in my life...umm...over my career, so I figured let's kick this conversation off this way, by me officially, publicly endorsing you both to become President and Vice-President of our great country." "It was such a courageous move", said one fan on Twitter. "He always plays such heroic characters in all of his movies, but to see that same kind of fearlessness in real life was a genuine treat. I'm so proud of him for taking a stand, even when it could cost him so much." "It's so good to finally see these actors and celebrities and professional athletes finally use their platforms to shape public opinion", said another fan on Twitter. "I've grown so weary, over the years, watching these perfect opportunities pass while these celebrities simply stick to expectations of dribbling or singing or making movies. It's a breath of fresh air to see them bravely stand for their convictions, knowing that it may impact their ability to continue in their professions; especially in today's cancel-culture climate." There's no telling what the future holds for Mr. Johnson, after his act of bravery. Many of the immediate responses on Twitter and other social-media platforms seemed positive. It and it does seem like more celebrities and professional athletes are willing to go out on a limb and publicly profess their support for liberal agendas and progressive ideas. But if anyone is man enough to stand in the face of criticism and public shaming, Dwayne Johnson is probably the guy we'd pick for the job.
Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced it advices against traditional trick-or-treating this year. While many people assumed this decision was related to the novel coronavirus pandemic which has plagued the world, we chased further clarity on this decision and were very surprised by what we found.
While it is true that "many traditional Halloween activities can be high-risk for spreading viruses," as the CDC's holiday recommendations page says, this is not what led to the CDC's decision to recommend Halloween be canceled in 2020. It was another, less discussed illness, which led experts to make the decision to forgo All Hallows' Eve in 2020. "Quite honestly, we've spent the better part of the past four years hearing, 'Orange Man Bad', and now as the nation braces for the possibility of four more years of Donald Trump, it's really starting to impact people's psyches", said one expert from the CDC. Trump Derangement Syndrome, or TDS as it has become known, is real and its impacts are far reaching. The CDC expert we spoke to said, "What our team of experts have recently discovered is the color orange is a huge trigger for many people. It causes unstable, unpredictable, and erratic behavior." Just last week, a woman captured on camera screaming and extending her middle fingers at Trump supporters. She was so triggered in that moment that she forgot where she was and ended up crashing into another vehicle.
What couldn't be seen as clearly, in the video, is these Trump supporters were mostly children, who were simply carving pumpkins in their front yard. Investigators later discovered that the trigger was not a yard sign or even a MAGA hat, but was simply the orange pumpkins the children were carving. "Donald Trump has created so much chaos and hate, that people are honestly losing it", said Dr. Kaelin, a phycologist. "The type of mental abuse people have suffered, on a large scale, over the past four years is really unprecedented. We're going to be stuck with the wounds for a very long time and it is going to take some serious healing. I look forward to a day when Americans can once again be proud of the man or woman who lives in the White House." According to the CDC, even though the decision was a tough one to make, they feel very confident in their recommendation to cancel Halloween. "2020 has been a very tough year, full of many disappointments. However, hope is on the horizon. We don't want people to focus their energies on the irritation of October 31st or even on the color orange and all it has come to represent. Instead, we want them to use that negative energy, on November 3rd, to lead our nation toward the kind of change that will one day make Halloween great again."
Washington, D.C. -- On Saturday, at the White House, President was asked to signal who his pick to replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would be, but it was a hand gesture that drew the loudest criticism. "If somebody were to ask me now, I would say that a woman would be" Trump said, pausing to form a curvy figure with his hands. "In first place."
Critics of the president immediately pounced on the gesture, sharing clips of the remarks in order to label him a "misogynist." "This is a well-known dog-whistle for sexual predators and male chauvinists alike", said one angry woman on Twitter. "These are the kinds of sexist gestures and remarks that we've come to expect from President Trump." "Which body part is Trump imagining when he says 'a woman' and makes that gesture?" asked Daily Beast columnist Julia Davis on Twitter.
"Trump signals his next appointment to our nation's highest court, by using a hand gesture to simulate the shape of a woman's breasts," remarked another critic who shared the video clip Saturday on social media.
"What we see here is that even when Trump is trying to present himself as a man who cares about women, he simply can't help himself", said Roxanne Sailors from the Woke Women podcast. "That's the problem with most sexists. They have one thing on their mind all the time. It's gross and disgusting and definitely not the standard we expect from the President of the United States."
When asked what she thinks about some of Joe Biden's strange behavior and gestures, like smelling hair and touching women and children in ways that have been perceived as abnormal or unwanted, Roxanne said, "Are you kidding me. Joe Biden? Bless his heart. He's like the sweetest old man in the world. In no way are his actions comparable to the shameful and grotesque things we've seen and heard from Donald Trump. And like the old adage says, there are two times when boys can get away with anything. When they're babies and when they're senile. And we all know that Joe Biden is senile. Give the old man a break. He deserves it." For now we're left to speculate whether the President's gesture was accidental or subliminal. He certainly has a history of saying things that don't paint him as a gentleman. Sometimes it feels like it doesn't matter what the President does, it will always be viewed in a negative light, but for now we'll let the video do the talking. An exasperated and confused local mother, who just two months ago moved to eliminate her husband's discipline of the children, sounded the alarm during a Wednesday family meeting about a surge in disobedience seen in her children. This mother, pressed her husband about the uptick in disobedience that included stealing cookies, disrespect, fighting, swearing and playing violent video games. "One of my neighbors finally had the courage to ask me, 'why isn't your husband disciplining your children?'" said this confused mother, noting that other neighbor's appeals for her husband to do something have gone unanswered. "This is the only option to curb our children's misbehavior. Discipline. They rely on my husband's willingness to discipline our kids. And they are saying his instruction and rebuke is nowhere to be seen." When asked whether she feels her choice to undermine her husband's authority in front of the children, as well as her later efforts to eliminate his discipline altogether, have anything to do with the recent uptick in her children's misbehavior the confused mother said, "It's really hard to tell. I mean correlation is not the same as causation. My children just weren't happy with their father's approach to discipline. They said it was unfair and discriminatory. They demanded that I put a stop to it, which I did. But there's really no explanation that I can think of as to why our kids are now moving to more extreme measures of disobedience and rebellion and we all need my husband to answer for this uptick in insubordination." When asked to share his thoughts, the woman's husband said, "I want my wife, my children, and my neighbors to know that I am here and I care." he said. "It's becasue I love my kids that I discipline them. I have a biblical mandate to train up my children in the way they should go. But it's also important for my wife to understand that her words and her actions have consequences. When my children see her undermining my authority, as I'm attempting to restore peace and order in our home, they are naturally going to see an opportunity to ignore my efforts and do whatever they want. Just as she is asking for my support in restoring order and helping to correct bad behavior, I also need her support as well." As this confused couple struggles to find answers and a way forward, their children continue to do whatever they want; as their grandparents and neighbors continue to hope that the recent turn of events isn't an indication of what the future holds. Sacramento, CA — A self-acclaimed 'queen' was removed from a Spirit Airlines flight during a rant about her royalty, white privilege, and a trip to the restroom. While some passengers viewed her as problematic, many others see her as a hero. "She's a modern day, Rosa Parks. She really is.", said one passenger. "It was so nice to see her take a stand for equality and her right to use whatever toilet she pleased. It's a true and historic moment and I'm glad that I was a part of it." The issue arose on a Spirit Airlines flight which had just landed in Sacramento. The unidentified woman got up to use the bathroom at the rear of the plane. However, a flight attendant was attempting to get to the front of the plane in order to do her job and asked the woman not to block the isle. The flight attendant allegedly requested the passenger move to the side, at which point the passenger took a stand for justice. "Dang! Karen got owned!", said another passenger we spoke with. "That white lady was trying to act like she owned the plane but the queen wasn't having it." The unidentified passenger, who called herself a queen from California, refused to be pushed around. "Don’t push me," the passenger said. "Did you see what she did? She put her hands at me. She wants me to go to jail, y’all. See how she’s antagonizing me?" The passenger then began to call the flight attendant out for her white privilege. "It’s over with — it’s 2020. Wake up, you got a mask on. So you’re under the government, too. You’re confined and you don’t have white privilege anymore." The white flight attendant accepted the humiliation and admonishment and simply acknowledged the fact that she didn't have any privilege over the queen of California, who then preceded to tell the flight attendant, "You wait for me to get to my bathroom and have respect for me like you been having." The passenger was eventually removed from the aircraft, but not before she made one final and valiant effort at ensuring those on the plane understood who she was and where she came from. "She laughing and it's funny, but she need to understand to respect a queen when she see one in her face," the queen said said as she turned to a different passenger, who was laughing and said, "bow down b****, becasue your eyes is recessive. I got them dominant genes. I took all. I got A-plus." A spokesperson for Spirit Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A New Egyptian History Initiative Gets Embalmed & Wrapped for Burial By a Local School Board.9/14/2020 In what many supporters of "The 2630 B.C." project compare to a Medjay's dagger to the heart, opponents view as a victory for ancient Egyptian history.
On Monday, the Pinewood school board voted—in a contentious split decision—to not move forward with "The 2630 B.C. Project" as a world history curriculum for this calendar year. "History is written by the victors", said Kathy Ottoman, one of the disappointed parents who attended the school board meeting via Zoom. "So, we will continue to peddle lies and misinformation as a means by which we seek to preserve the reputation of the Ancient Egyptian dynasty which plagued the earth with 30 centuries of slavery, barbarianism, and brutality." The curriculum in question is called, "The 2630 B.C. Project", which is aimed at reframing Egypt's history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Jewish people at the very center of the world's narrative on the history of Egypt. Based on the recent adoption, by the Pinewood School Board, of "The 1619 Project" (which will be taught alongside many other social-justice initiatives) many proponents of the Egyptian history initiative assumed it would have been an easy victory. They found out Monday, their assumptions were wrong. We spoke to Tim Dyke, one of the school board members who voted against adopting the new curriculum, and asked why he opposed the change. "Listen, we take our student's education seriously. Nothing is more important to parents than ensuring their children will be safe and are being taught things that are not only true but are also free from bias, manipulation, or political agendas." And that is how many people view "The 2630 B.C. Project". They see it as 'revisionist' in nature as well as an effort to manipulate sentiments about the history of slavery throughout the world. Jake Silverman, a concerned parent who opposed the curriculum change said, "Ancient Egyptian history has been vetted and taught for centuries. Who do these people think they are to come in and reshape that which has been widely embraced and accepted as historically accurate for generations? The audacity and arrogance of these people is really quite alarming." When pressed on how "The 2630 B.C. Project"--which was denied by the school board—differs from the "The 1619 Project"—which was unanimously embraced—Dyke answered, "The differences, though seemingly minor, are significant. First of all this is America and becasue it's a free country, we are able to take a certain amount of liberty when it comes to our own history. We own it! But what we can't do is go around and change another country's history. That's just wrong! We wouldn't change The People's Republic of China's history or Cuban history, those aren't our stories to tell. So, how is Egypt any different? Also, and I think this further proves my point, public opinion towards America's 'Greatness' has changed drastically in the last four years, and I think we all know why. We are seizing on an opportunity to teach our students that America can't be great again because it was never great in the first place. And why wasn't it great? Because it was built on a foundation of irreparable systemic racism. This system can't be redeemed! It must be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up." I guess it's safe to say, this isn't your grandpa's America anymore. It belongs to a new generation of people who desire to be on a different side of history than their forefathers were. First, they came for "COPS" and then they came for "Live P.D." These decisions were fairly easy, as it became clear that cultural winds were changing. "Trying to sell police officers as the 'good guys' wasn't going to work anymore with the shifting sands of culture, " said one Network executive we spoke to. Based on virtue signaling taking place on various social-media platforms, media companies began to sense they would be losing advertising and marketing revenue unless they made changes quickly. However, things got less clear as the long-running children's program, "Paw Patrol" made efforts to signal their own virtue on their official Twitter account. Responses quickly poured in, demanding one of the shows main characters pay the ultimate price for his egregious sin of being a police dog. Though this backlash didn't last long, what it did do is shed light on a very real dilemma: how should cancel-culture proceed in their their mission to defund and de-platform the police, when doing so would cancel someone in a protected class they are seeking to redeem? "We've been calling out white culture for decades, for their hypocrisy and pretentiousness. How can we get away with similar antics, by allowing a police officer to remain on television as a positive role-model and mentor, simply because he is a black man", said Vanessa Graves, a representative for Black Lives Matter, in Chicago (BLMChi). The character in question is Carl Winslow, from the hit sitcom "Family Matters", which ran from 1989-1998. Carl, who is played by Reginald VelJohnson, is one of many public servants that VelJohnson played as he cut out a niche for himself in Hollywood. VelJohnson, himself, is a beloved man who is respected by everyone who has ever had the privilege of meeting him. "The question was never about his character, but rather the characters he routinely played on TV and in the movies," said Graves. "But at the same time, how can we cancel Carl Winslow? He's done absolutely nothing wrong!" Therein lies the problem. What is a movement supposed to do when their demand for justice collides with their demand for equality? Do they overlook the one in favor of the other? What will this choice do to their overall mission and goals? Will people still take them seriously if their insistence and efforts on ridding America's corrupt police of systemic racism and prejudice actually turn out to be raciest and prejudiced? These are the questions that are left without answers as the cancel-culture mob continues its efforts to root out the remaining remnants police that are depicted in a positive light. "We will not rest until the entire racist system is burned down. Sadly, if we lose a few of our own heroes in the fight, that's simply the cost of war," said Graves. |
