Fact Checkers Suprised to Discover Donald Trump Does Indeed Own A Dog Whistle The Size of a Foghorn.

Washington, D.C. — Of all the outlandish claims that were made in last night's Presidential debates, one comment—used as a way to taunt the President—caught the fact checkers by surprise.

"In all honesty, we really chased this assertion more as a joke", said one of the fact checkers we spoke with from Politico. "Vice President Biden made this statement more as a jab at President Trump, as he was trying to point out the President's blatant racism. However, as we pressed into this claim, what we discovered really blew our minds."

At one point, during a pretty contentious exchange, Biden remarked that Donald Trump has "a dog whistle about as big as a foghorn,” condemning the president’s racist and incendiary rhetoric. Debate moderator, Kristen Welker, quickly muted President Trump's microphone, not giving him a chance to respond to the claim and then moved on to her next softball question for Vice President Biden.

"It was kind of a mic-drop moment for the Vice President", said a representative we spoke with from the Biden Campaign. "We'd been working on that line several times in Joe's basement over the past five days. He couldn't ever get the cadence down in all of our dress rehearsals, so we didn't really know how it was going to land. I'm not sure if it was the cocktail of drugs he was on or the emotion of the moment, but Joe landed that line perfectly; better than we could have ever imagined." 

Many people saw this moment the same way. This line quickly became the most Tweeted quote from Joe Biden since, "You ain't black" and it was a perfect zing to win the Internet. But the quote went far beyond that.

"We had several disgruntled Trump supporters, report this assertion to us asking for us to fact check it for accuracy", said Politico. "We've known for a long time that Trump supporters are sore losers, but we have a commitment to checking the facts and taking every report of misinformation, seriously. Our assumption was that it would be an easy win, but what we found was quite surprising."

Long story short, after about 5-minutes of checking it was discovered that Donald Trump does indeed own a dog whistle the size of a foghorn. Split Rock Lighthouse, in the northern shores of Minnesota was once used as an active light house for shipping in Lake Superior. However, the light house—which is a major tourist attraction in Minnesota—was sold to TRUMP Organization in 2015. While it is primarily used as an inconspicuous tourist destination, light house serves another—much more nefarious—purpose.

"Well, in times of great need, Donald Trump will use the converted fog horns as a dog whistle", said the Lighthouse's Chief Engineer. "For example, this past summer when Donald Trump wanted to rally the Poor Boys (who were standing by) to start civil unrest in Minneapolis, in hopes that it would be blamed on BLM and other peaceful protestors. Donald trump made the call and I fired up the dog whistle as a rally call to all the troops. Of course, the dog whistle is mostly a backup plan if his Tweets ever get blocked or the mainstream media cuts out the hand signals he regularly uses on television."

Politico fact checkers were blown away by what they found. "We really couldn't believe this. We honestly thought this was going to be a lot of work for nothing, but what we uncovered might be the most provable evidence we've ever uncovered to confirm that Donald Trump is, in fact, a blatant racist."

To our knowledge, the FBI has now been notified and is investigating the lighthouse and it's many uses. Updates will be provided to this story as they unfold. For now, what we know for certain is that no matter how silly the claim may seem, no accusations should ever be considered too outlandish, when it comes to Donald Trump.
